Heinrich Böll Foundation Office

The scheme of this office layout focuses on the flexibility of the space. The roughly 155 sqm office area on the whole represents a working environment where the public and more private boundaries can be intertwined in the design of the space itself.
Services provided include 4 offices, a pantry, a cloak and storage room and a multi-purpose room.
A white corridor spatially divides the open plan whilst dissolving the boundaries between service spaces and offices. Functioning as a divider between the office area and the multi-function room, in the same time is also connecting, while being transformed by opening and closing doors and areas, allowing interaction and separation.

The built-in bookshelves allow the penetration of light, giving a calming atmosphere to the workspace and encouraging interaction in the working environment. The same material is also used for the sliding doors between the offices. The shelves and sliding doors being at the same height throughout the whole office give a sense of continuity.

The glossy white finish of the shelves and the different greens of the table surfaces stand in contrast to the waxed, matte oak flooring, which gives a natural feel to the space. This is further enhanced by the exposed service ducts and lighting on the ceiling and the exposed acoustic panels.

The shelves in the multi-purpose room are flexible; they can be moved along a suspended track to create different layouts according to different needs.
The green shades of colors for the flooring here add to the cooperate identity and create a working environment more in tune with the natural environment. In contrary to the office area, the table surfaces here have a wooden finish.
