The client of this project wants to improve the lobby area of an office tower by adding a cafe bar. The existing lobby has a very pale and grey interior. With its hard and glossy stone surfaces it is only very little inviting.

The idea of the design of this cafe bar is to create a lively space for people to spend their time, while having a cup of coffee and overseeing the lobby area. The Road to El Dorado dvdrip
The design considers the cafe to be a kind of installation, which is being inserted into the lobby space, acting as one big furniture piece. For this, a raised platform is created, which defines the area of the cafe, and is being placed in between the existing columns, a transparent curtain separates the cafe from the rest of the lobby.
The functions of sitting in the cafe and walking through it, as two major activities, are implemented in the design as the shape of the furniture follows the natural movements and the body form while sitting or walking.

名人咖啡厅

名人咖啡厅位于的北京名人国际酒店一层，靠近北京国际会议中心。一层大厅的环境较单调，过于严肃，不够友好，没有供人们停留的空间和气氛。建筑师在设计过程中不是被动的单一满足功能需求，而是想在这样的环境中创造出一个活跃的、可供人们惬意停留的场所。我们的方案是在这样的环境中置入了一个漂浮的盒子。盒子如同一个升起的装置，被置入大厅里，同时界定了咖啡厅空间范围，再用透明的隔断将咖啡厅和大厅分隔开。再以行走和坐下休息两种行为方式的截面为依据，在其中分割出不同的空间形态。整个盒子作为一个整体家具界定出咖啡厅的空间范围。
