The site is on the boundary of Beijing city and its surrounding suburbia, at the end of the metro line No.9 and at the starting point of another new metro line to the outside of Beijing. An exchange metro station has to be placed together with a huge maintaining yard for the trains; the question is what kind of TOD (transportation oriented development) is suitable here?





Converting the occupied areas and the not developed left over areas is the strategy for the government and investors to speed up their development, at the same time the competition concept wants to keep a certain regional memory at least in terms of public urban space pattern…
Based on a potential surrounding residential grouping analysis, a high-density residential ensemble is located on top of the maintaining yard. With a huge slope it gives the residential population a direct link to the metro station and commercial shopping area underneath the road, on which the bus stop is also located.

A clear 3-dimensional solution is provided to solve this complex urban public space organization issue…
Metro maintaining yards always occupy quite a big area, lower down the environment quality and disconnect the surrounding areas, by giving it green sloping cover on the top, we increased the efficiency of urban land use and can heighten the quality of the environment, we also can maintain a proper connection with the surroundings areas.

方案简介
项目用地位于北京的城市与郊区的界限上,是地铁9号线和一个通往北京城外的地铁线的交点。用地里将会建造一个地铁交换站及其庞大的维护保养场地。所以我们思考的是,什么样的以交通为导向的开发形式才最适合这个地区?

在土地上拆旧建新是政府和开发商加速自身发展的途径。但同时,这次竞赛希望这片土地能够在某种程度上保持原有的记忆,或至少在空间形态上与原有的相类似。
基于对周围居住区潜能的分析,我们决定在地铁维护保养场地的上方建造一个高密度的居住体,并通过一个巨大的斜坡使居住者能够直接进入地铁站、公交车站,以及公交车站下方的地下商业区。
我们用一个清晰的三维解决方案去处理这个复杂的城市公共空间组织问题。
地铁维修保养场地往往占用大量的空间并降低周围环境的质量,用绿色大斜坡覆盖维修场地后,不仅用地效率和环境质量得到显著的提高,还使周围的空间连接成了一个整体。
